Meet Our Team
Tony Merah
Tony is an accomplished lawyer with over 20 years of experience in Nigeria. After successfully completed the National Committee for Accreditation's exams for foreign-trained lawyers, he honed his understanding of the Canadian Legal System at Smith Law Office. Driven by a commitment to assisting others and a sense of responsibility to his new city that welcomed him, Tony founded Merah Law Office in 2014. Tony focused on providing excellent legal services that made a real difference in people’s lives. Outside of work, he dedicates time volunteering at the Church as well as the Calgary Remand Centre and the Calgary Youth Offenders’ Centre and spends time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Rofel Diego
Rofel is a certified public accountant and a licensed lawyer in the Philippines. He came to Canada in 2017 and was called to the Law Society of Alberta Bar in 2023. Rofel obtained various degrees including an Accounting degree from Saint Louis University, and a Law degree and a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of the Cordilleras. In Canada, he completed a Certificate of Achievement in Canadian Accounting Fundamentals at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and qualified through Federation of Law Societies of Canada National Committee on Accreditation (NCA). He also completed his Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) and articled at Merah Law Office. Outside of work, Rofel enjoys staying active by playing sports and planning travels. He is a strong believer in volunteering and has found that it helps him excel professionally.
